Cote d’Ivoire: Cocoa Livelihood Resilience

With support from the Africa Climate Change Fund, the African Development Bank in collaboration with the World Agroforestry Institute (ICRAF) and partners will enhance the resilience of two smallholder cocoa farmers communities in Cote d’Ivoire by introducing a package of sustainable agro-forestry measures to tackle the negative impacts of climate change on cocoa production.

The benefits for replication in Cote d’Ivoire and at least three other cocoa growing countries in the region will be promoted to potential investors through the Adaptation Benefits Mechanism. Investors will receive certified adaptation benefits that can be used for reporting on contributions to the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
